P&O Cruises Boosts Short Breaks in 2013 Winter Program

In line with Australia’s growing love for quick weekend getaways and short breaks, P&O Cruises has boosted its three-night cruises and added new four-night cruises to its 2013 winter program.

The new program, on sale from January 12, features 61 departures across 13 unique itineraries sailing from Brisbane and Sydney from April to September, 2013.

Among the highlights of the winter program is a record number of short break cruises including new themes such as Mother’s Day at sea and Christmas in July to complement existing favourites like comedy, lifestyle and food and wine cruises.

The cruise line will also offer four-night cruises for the first time in 2013.

P&O Cruises’ short breaks start from $529* per person quad share for a three-night cruise.

Jenny Lourey, Senior Vice President of Carnival Australia, which operates P&O Cruises, said the increase in shorter sailings recognised Australians’ growing appetite for short breaks.

“A lot of Australians see our short break cruises as a great way to dip their toe in the water and try a cruise holiday while our cruise devotees see them as a good excuse for a quick cruise fix,” Ms Lourey said.

With P&O Cruises the only cruise line sailing year round from Sydney and Brisbane the new program offers 35 winter sailings from Sydney on both Pacific Jewel and Pacific Pearl, while Brisbane-based Pacific Dawn will offer 26 cruises, including 15 of its popular one-week weekend departures.

Fares start from $799* per person quad share for seven-night Pacific Islands cruises departing Brisbane on Pacific Dawn.
