Arcadia cruises into town with Marco Pierre White Restaurant

Sydney will play host to a Marco Pierre White restaurant for one night only when P&O Cruises World Cruising superliner Arcadia cruises into Circular Quay tomorrow morning.

Home to Marco Pierre White’s restaurant Ocean Grill, Arcadia is making an overnight visit to Sydney during her 100-day world cruise.

Seating 60 guests, the intimate Ocean Grill offers classic grilled fare using the finest ingredients, skilfully prepared and presented with his trademark flair in a relaxed yet sophisticated ambience akin to many great London grill restaurants.

The restaurant’s menu includes some of the British restaurateur’s favourite dishes including whole grilled lobster with triple-cooked hand cut chips, garlic butter and Béarnaise sauce and deep-fried soft shell blue crab with sesame coleslaw and a coriander and red chilli dip.

Other popular menu items include a Salt Marsh lamb rack with Dauphinoise potatoes and a Romarin scented jus, Gloucester Old Spot pork belly with honey glaze and butter beans and Marco’s Sherry Trifle Wally Ladd with black cherry jam and Harvey’s Bristol cream.

P&O Cruises Managing Director Carol Marlow said Marco Pierre White’s cuisine fitted perfectly with the cruise line’s British heritage and was a popular feature across its fleet.

“Our ships offer the unique privilege of dining in the restaurant of one of the world's leading chefs no matter where they are in the world and we are delighted to bring a Marco Pierre White restaurant to Australia at a time when he is playing such an important role in the local culinary scene,” Ms Marlow said.

“As Australians get to know our very own specialty chef we hope to see more foodies coming onboard to enjoy a taste of his fare at sea.”

Australians can dine in Marco Pierre White’s Ocean Grill during Arcadia’s 23-night cruise from Los Angeles to Sydney on February 2, 2014, priced from $2689* per person twin share or on a 15-night cruise from Sydney to Singapore on February 26, 2014, priced from $1739* per person. Exclusively for adults, Arcadia is one of the most contemporary liners sailing from the UK with a range of innovative features including external glass lifts overlooking the ocean, an indoor/outdoor swimming pool with retractable glass roof and a boutique cinema.

Marco Pierre White has restaurants across P&O Cruises World Cruising’s fleet including an Ocean Grill on Oriana and Adonia, an Italian restaurant, The White Room, on Ventura plus bistro-style dining in Café Jardin on Oceana and Café Bordeaux on Aurora.

*Fares are cruise only, per person in a complete twin cabin and include all main meals and entertainment onboard. Subject to availability, conditions apply.
