P&O Cruises Sneak Peek at Christmas Treats in Store for Cruisers

P&O Cruises turned its boardroom into Santa’s grotto earlier this month to give staff a sneak peak of this year’s planned Christmas festivities onboard its fleet.

As in previous years, the cruise line is going all out to make Christmas a memorable occasion for travellers, with all three ships celebrating the holidays in the South Pacific.

A new addition this year is Santa’s grotto, which will be created on each ship on December 24. Drawing inspiration from neighbourhood light displays, the grotto will see cruisers wander through a special light-filled area before enjoying Santa's candy cave and chocolate fountain.

During their cruise passengers will find themselves also experiencing both a light and a white Christmas, with a Christmas Laser Show taking centre stage over the Christmas period and snow machines in the ships’ Marquee and Atrium during Christmas Eve Carols and Santa’s arrival.

Santa will be joined by his elves to hand out presents to all children onboard the ships, while a variety of Christmas treats, such as Christmas-themed movies, Christmas crackers, a special menu featuring Christmas pudding and mince pies and Christmas carollers are also planned.

There will also be plenty of opportunities for guests to embrace the holiday spirit and get involved in the festivities, including a Christmas Choir for cruisers and beach cricket tournaments on P&O Cruises’ fantastic island destinations.

Pacific Dawn left on her Christmas cruise at the weekend, with Pacific Pearl departing on December 17 and Pacific Jewel yesterday.
