Princess Cruises has launched its 2014 winter program featuring the cruise line’s first week-long itineraries from Brisbane.
Following the success of its summer sailings from Queensland, the cruise line has announced that it will make its first winter sailings from Brisbane in 2014, with the 77,000-tonne Sea Princess offering new seven-night cruises to the Great Barrier Reef and Pacific Islands.
Priced from $1249* per person twin share, the week-long itineraries will depart Brisbane every Sunday between May 18 and June 15, 2014, including two cruises to the Great Barrier Reef with calls at the Whitsundays, Cairns and Port Douglas and three cruises to New Caledonia and Vanuatu.
Princess Cruises Commercial Director Alan Stuart said Queenslanders would be spoilt for choice in summer and winter 2014.
“The decision to base Sea Princess in Brisbane for the winter on top of her 2013-14 summer deployment in Queensland gives us the chance to introduce some great new itineraries and shorter cruises, which we think will be very popular,” Mr Stuart said.
The program, which goes on sale on Friday (December 14), also includes the first world cruise from Australia to visit South America, with a 104-night voyage on Dawn Princess making maiden calls to Peru, Ecuador and Easter Island.
Departing Sydney on May 18, 2014, the world cruise will call at 40 destinations including maiden visits to Yangon in Myanmar, Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo, an overnight call to Lima, Ecuador with the chance to visit Machu Pichu and return calls to Rome, New York and ANZAC Cove.
Fares start from $20,999* per person twin share for the full voyage. Onboard credit up to $1000 per person is available for bookings made before July 31, 2013.
Other highlights of the 2014 winter program include:
- A 20-day Papua New Guinea cruise on Dawn Princess features maiden calls to the ports of Alotau, Doini Island and Kiriwina Island plus visits to Pacific ports including Champagne Bay, Noumea and Vila. Departing Sydney on August 31, 2014, fares start from $3499* per person twin share.
