Dawn Service for Sun Princess in Anzac Cove

Hundreds of Sun Princess passengers rose early last week to take part in a moving dawn service as their ship sailed the waters of Anzac Cove on Turkey’s Gallipoli Peninsula.

The passengers remembered the thousands of Australian and New Zealand soldiers who fought at Gallipoli in 1915 at a service led by Captain Andrew Froude and priest Kevin Taylor.

Around 140 members of the ship’s onboard passenger choir performed at the service, before Returned Service League official Graham Fisher cast a commemorative wreath on the waters of the Cove.

Sun Princess’ visit to Anzac Cove on June 21 came one month into her 104-night world cruise, which will see her visit northern Europe, America and Tahiti before returning to Australia in late August.
