Carnival Australia’s new brand specific sales structure is up and running with two newly appointed sales managers starting in their new roles this week.
Ryan Taibel is leading the P&O Cruises’ sales team and Brett Wendorf has been recruited to head the Princess Cruises’ sales effort.
Their appointment reflects Carnival Australia’s multi-brand focus with separate brand-focussed sales teams already in place for Carnival Cruise Lines and Holland America Line/Seabourn.
Under the new sales structure, Tammy Marshall, Senior Vice President P&O Cruises and Commercial Shared Services, has responsibility for the P&O Cruises World Cruising and Cunard sales drive.
“Our new sales structure is exactly what is needed in an increasingly competitive market to enable each of our cruise brands to make the most of every sales opportunity,” Ms Marshall said.
“It is also a way of streamlining relationships with our travel agent partners with a simplified brand specific offering, which we confidently believe will drive sales growth for all of our brands.”
Brett Wendorf brings 20 years’ travel industry experience to his new role as Head of Sales for Princess Cruises, but the US-born manager is not entirely new to cruising.
“I grew up 20 kilometres from Princess Cruises’ US head office at Santa Clarita and over the years I have enjoyed four cruises,” Brett said.
“I see this as a great opportunity in this growing cruise market and I think Princess Cruises has something really special with its focus on destinations and cruises that offer incredible value.”
In his home town Los Angeles, Brett worked in sales with Players Club International before going on the road to work with Contiki Holidays as a tour manager in North America. Brett moved to Brisbane in 1997 where he began his award winning business development manager career with Top Deck and I.T. Adventure before being appointed national sales and marketing manager with Kumuka Worldwide in 2001.
As Director of Sales P&O Cruises, Ryan Taibel brings a wealth of cruise sales experience, having been with Carnival Australia for the past three years with a diverse career background in sales.
“I am very excited about leading the P&O Cruises’ sales team to support such a strong brand in this market that has incredible opportunities for growth,” Ryan said.
“We have a great cruise program to sell with something for everyone. It has never been a better time for people who are new to cruising to jump on a P&O Cruises’ ship.”
