Princess Cruises appoints new Vice President Australia

Stuart Allison appointed new Vice President Princess Cruises Australia

Stuart Allison was today announced by Carnival Australia as the new Vice President for Princess Cruises Australia.

With more than 15 years’ experience in cruising, including 10 years with Carnival Australia, Mr Allison will be responsible for leading the local team selling Princess Cruises as the brand continues to expand its presence, itineraries and passenger numbers in this region.

Mr Allison’s career has been devoted to the cruise industry, joining P&O Cruises/Princess Cruises in the UK in 1998. Mr Allison relocated to Australia 10 years ago and most recently held the position of Director of Market Planning and Revenue Management for P&O Cruises Australia.

During his ten years with the Australian business, Mr Allison has been at the forefront of Carnival Australia’s success in growing the cruise category in which Princess Cruises and P&O Cruises, with their locally based ships, have introduced hundreds of thousands of people to the delights of cruising and laying the foundation for the industry’s double digit annual growth over the past decade.

Princess Cruises chief executive officer and president Alan Buckelew said he was delighted that Mr Allison would soon be steering the local Princess Cruises brand as it prepares for continued growth and product and itinerary expansion.

“Stuart’s knowledge, passion and drive have been key in contributing to Carnival Australia’s success over the past decade and we are delighted that he has been appointed to now lead the local team selling Princess Cruises” Mr Buckelew said.

“Stuart takes on the leadership of the Princess Cruises brand in Australia and New Zealand at a very exciting time. With great potential for further growth in this region and emerging cruise markets in Asia, Stuart is ideally placed to lead this effort.”

Mr Allison said he was looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in the new role.

“After 15 years with the business, 10 years in Australia and five years in my current role, I'm ready for a new challenge,” Mr Allison said.

“I've always had a very close connection with the Princess Cruises brand, having worked closely with much of the commercial team for almost 15 years and having spent more time on Princess Cruises ships for holidays and work trips than any other brand - my first ever cruise was on Dawn Princess.”

Mr Allison will commence in his new role in mid-October.
