Sunrise and P&O Cruises Make Australian TV History

P&O Cruises has announced a television first with Channel Seven’s entire Sunrise program to be broadcast live from the decks of superliner Pacific Jewel at sea next Monday.

In what will be Australia’s first breakfast show at sea, all the Sunrise presenters – Kochie, Sam, Nat, Beretts and Edwina - will be onboard when the show goes live for an extended four hour program on the Australia Day public holiday.

While Sunrise will be broadcast to Australian lounge rooms from somewhere off the New South Wales’ south coast, the program will still include the usual lineup of news, weather, the Cash Cow and even special guests Justice Crew performing live onboard.

P&O Cruises Senior Vice President Tammy Marshall said broadcasting an entire breakfast show at sea was one of the biggest and boldest undertakings the cruise line had embarked on.

“We are thrilled to be working with the Sunrise team on what we believe to be a world first and know the passengers and crew onboard Pacific Jewel’s Australia Day cruise will be very excited to be part of Australian cruise and television history,” Ms Marshall said.

Sunrise will be extended by one hour (6am – 10am) to ensure the team can lap up all the culinary delights and fun activities onboard Pacific Jewel, with weather presenter Edwina Bartholomew gearing up to scale, swing and segway her way around the ship as she takes on the cruise line’s first adventure playground at sea, P&OEdge.

To celebrate the history-making partnership with Sunrise, P&O Cruises is offering up to $150* onboard spending money per cabin on all 2014 departures booked between January 27 and 31, 2014. For more information and to book visit www.pocruises.com.au/sunrise or phone13 24 94.
