Read All About It - Seabourn Offers PressReader Digital Newspaper and Magazine Service

Seabourn is enhancing its guests’ travel experience with the launch of a customisable digital newspaper and magazine service, PressReader Offline, on its award-winning ships – Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn and Seabourn Quest.

Using this breakthrough technology, Seabourn will offer guests complimentary, full editions of their favourite global newspapers and magazines, chosen from a selection of more than 2500 that guests can download on personal iOS or Android mobile devices while in port or at sea.

“We pride ourselves on giving our guests the highest quality amenities as well as all of the comforts of home during their cruise,” Seabourn President Richard Meadows said.

“With PressReader Offline, we are setting new standards for customer service by keeping our guests connected to the daily news and events from around the world – a service they’ve come to expect during their travels.”

The PressReader app supplies newspapers and magazines in their entirety, including all printed sections and even advertising.

Seabourn ships will download the requested content daily and store it on the ships’ local network, so guests can access their choice without going online. Guests may download the app in advance or while they are onboard. In addition, each ship will make available a small supply of tablets with PressReader already downloaded for use by guests who do not carry personal mobile devices.

PressReader Chief Commercial Officer Igor Smirnoff said the company was happy to support Seabourn’s goal of providing the ultimate cruise experience and services to its guests.

“This is the first news service that solves the challenges of continuous access to a broadband network.  Now guests can enjoy unlimited offline access to the latest publications at any time throughout their ocean journey,” Mr Smirnoff said.
