Teresa Lloyd - Chief Strategy and External Affairs Officer

Teresa joined Carnival Australia in July 2022 where she is responsible for external affairs and strategy with a current focus on ESG and de-carbonsiation.

Prior to joining Carnival Australia Teresa had a long and distinguished career as CEO of shipping industry peak body, Maritime Industry Australia Ltd (MIAL) for 19 years. In that role she was responsible for leading the industry across a variety of issues including shipping policy, employment and training, environment, health and safety, and vessel operations.

Internationally Teresa was the Australian shipowner (employer) representative at the United Nations International Labour Organisation during the Maritime Labour Convention adoption; regularly attended the UN International Maritime Organisation meetings as an industry adviser to the Australian delegation; chaired the International Chamber of Shipping, Environment Sub-Committee and was the Australian Secretary General within the Asian Shipowners Association.

Teresa holds a degree in Naval Architecture and an MBA and was inducted into the Australian Maritime Hall of Fame in 2022.
