P&O Cruises Bring Christmas Cheer to Pacific Islands

P&O Cruises spread festive cheer throughout the Pacific as crew members from Pacific Dawn, Pacific Jewel and Pacific Sun handed out nearly 1000 gifts to Pacific Island children over Christmas.

The ships carried gifts from Carnival Australia employees who generously donated to the Pacific Islands Children's Christmas Appeal, an increasingly popular annual tradition.

Crew from the three ships donned Santa hats as they handed out more than 150 gifts of sporting equipment and musical instruments at each visit to Wala, Champagne Bay, Vila, Lifou, Mystery Island and Isle of Pines from December 22 to 25, 2011.

Ann Sherry, CEO of Carnival Australia, which operates P&O Cruises, said the cruise line was happy to bring extra Christmas cheer to the Pacific Islands during the festive season.

“P&O Cruises has been sailing to the Pacific Islands for nearly 80 years and we are delighted to be in a position to do something special for these wonderful island communities at Christmas time,” Ms Sherry said.
