P&O Cruises Gets Muddy in Mooloolaba as Tough Mudders Join First Sunshine Coast Sea Break

P&O Cruises has thrown down the challenge to travellers wanting an action-packed break, with a special cruise package combining its inaugural visit to the Sunshine Coast in August with entry to the local Tough Mudder contest.

Tough Mudder is one of the world’s most popular adventure challenges, featuring a 20-kilometre obstacle course designed to test the physical and mental agility of participants. The Sunshine Coast event on August 16-17, 2014 will take place on one of the biggest Tough Mudder courses on the planet, stretching across more than 4000 hectares.

Sailing from Sydney on Thursday August 14, guests will have plenty of time to relax and prepare for the event during the four-night P&OSeaBreak on Pacific Pearl. Along with great entertainment, dining and onboard activities, guests will be able to do some training with P&O Cruises’ Bootcamp at Sea and get expert workout tips from an onboard Tough Mudder team leader before the ship makes its maiden visit to Mooloolaba on August 16.

P&O Cruises Senior Vice President Tammy Marshall said the new package offered a great way to compete in the Tough Mudder event.

“Entrants can keep training on the way to the Sunshine Coast, then after the event can relax and unwind, and soothe their tired muscles with a treatment, sauna or steam in the ship’s Aqua HealthSpaFitness centre as they sail back to Sydney.”

Priced from $619* per person quad share, the special package includes the four-night round trip cruise, main meals, entertainment and activities as well as entry to Tough Mudder, transfers to and from the course and for the finishers, branded merchandise, including a t-shirt and headband.
