Princess Cruises Launches New Blog Inspiring Aussies to Get Away from the Everyday

Hot on the heels of its award-winning Bucket List blog, Princess Cruises today launched a new blog called “Inspired to Cruise: A Year of Reasons to Get Away From the Everyday” at www.InspiredToCruise.com.

Each week throughout 2012 the new blog will reveal an inspiring story about what compelled a variety of Princess Cruises’ passengers to take a holiday at sea.

The posts will chronicle stories from long-time cruisers as well as those who have set sail for the first time, with each new blog exploring the celebrations, accomplishments, family milestones and other inspiring reasons to cruise.

“Our passengers regularly share deeply personal stories with us about why they’ve cruised and we wanted to share some of the most remarkable ones,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises executive vice president.

“With this new blog we’re giving our passengers the starring role as storytellers as we think their experiences will inspire others to think about the many great reasons to cruise.”

In the first post revealed today, Nancy Chamberlain-Fox of Trabuco Canyon, California, tells the story of cruising with her husband to celebrate their second wedding after being apart for 27 years.

A short video called an “Escape Inspiration” will also be featured on the blog each week. The 30-second onboard moments will be introduced by a crew member who will explain why the scene has meaning for them. The first video, introduced by Grand Princess Captain Anthony Herriott, features the mesmerising wake view off the ship’s fantail.

Ms Swartz said she expected the new blog to be as successful as “50 Essential Experiences: The Travel Bucket List” (www.50essentialexperiences.com), which revealed must-see travel spots around the globe from the perspective of the cruise line’s longest-serving employees.
