P&O Cruises explores more of Australia in 2014 program

P&O Cruises has launched its 2014 holiday program, which will include the cruise line’s first visits to the South Australian ports of Kangaroo Island, Port Lincoln and Robe, as well as new cruises from Melbourne and a second ship sailing from Brisbane.

Also on offer are more cruises to the spectacular destinations of Papua New Guinea and Queensland’s Moreton Island, following their debut in the cruise line’s 2013 schedule.

On sale from October 22, the new winter program features 75 different cruises from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland.

For the first time Pacific Jewel will join sister ship Pacific Dawn in Brisbane, offering 34 departures from Queensland over winter.  Meanwhile Pacific Pearl will cruise from Melbourne for the first time, while also offering sailings from Sydney and Auckland.

The Melbourne itineraries will include P&O Cruises’ maiden visits to Kangaroo Island, Robe and Port Lincoln plus a return to Adelaide with prices starting from $849* for a six-night roundtrip cruise departing April 18, 2014. Passengers will have the chance to see the abundance of wildlife on Kangaroo Island, marvel at the unique geology of the Limestone Coast and taste some of Australia’s best seafood at Port Lincoln.

Holidaymakers can also enjoy a five-night cruise to the Apple Isle from Melbourne, departing April 24, 2014, and visiting Burnie, Port Arthur and Hobart, priced from $649* per person quad share.

The southern destinations will also combine into longer P&OSeaAustralia cruises including a 15-night roundtrip Sydney voyage from $1649* and an 11-night roundtrip cruise from Melbourne priced from $1349*.

Following the excitement surrounding P&O Cruises’ return to Papua New Guinea in 2013, the cruise line will offer another 10-night cruise from Brisbane plus a new 11-night itinerary from Sydney with both cruises departing in September 2014 and calling at the stunning Milne Bay region with visits to Alotau, Doini Island and Trobriand Islands. Prices start from $1199* per person quad share.

P&O Cruises will continue to offer a variety of short P&OSeaBreak cruises, with more than 20 sailings of two to four-nights from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland. These include popular Food & Wine, Lifestyle and Comedy cruises plus four-night itineraries which will take Sydney cruise passengers to Queensland’s Moreton Island. P&OSeaBreaks are priced from $449* for a three-night cruise from Sydney.

Meanwhile P&O Cruises’ newest Pacific Island destination, Mare, will be included in Pacific Jewel’s seven-night itineraries opening up the pristine Loyalty Island to Brisbane cruisers for the first time.

To make holiday planning easier, P&O Cruises has renamed its itineraries based on their destinations and themes. Options range from short P&OSeaBreaks to the popular P&OIslands, which start from $699* for seven-night Pacific Islands cruises, and longer P&OExplorer cruises including a 16-night cruise from Sydney with visits to Fiji, Tonga and Norfolk Island, priced from $1749*.
