P&O Cruises Pacific Pearl passengers rally to support Tassie fire victims

When passengers on Pacific Pearl’s ‘A Taste of Tasmania’ cruise approached P&O Cruises to help them raise funds for Tassie bushfire victims, this iconic Australia Day photo of the superliner became the perfect way to do it.

A framed blow-up of Pacific Pearl taking centre stage for the Australia Day celebrations on the harbour will be offered in a special onboard auction with the proceeds going to the Australian Red Cross 2013 Tasmania Bushfire Appeal.

Pacific Pearl leaves Sydney on Thursday and is scheduled to visit Melbourne, Burnie, Wineglass Bay (for scenic cruising), Hobart and Port Arthur.

The special auction item of the Pacific Pearl image is in addition to the normal end-of-cruise auction of navigational charts in which the proceeds are directed to P&O Cruises’ partnership with Save the Children.

The partnership is allowing passengers to contribute to health and education projects in the Pacific Islands where, for more than 80 years, communities have made our passengers so welcome.
