Carnival UK CEO David Dingle and P&O Cruises World Cruising Managing Director Carol Marlow have inspected the keel of the new 141,000-tonne P&O Cruises World Cruising ship which was laid this week at the Fincantieri Monfalcone shipyard near Trieste, Italy.

Earlier Carol Marlow gave the order to have the keel laid for the "biggest and best ship to be built for the British market!". The keel section is made up of six pre-manufactured blocks, weighs 408 tons and is fitted with 214 tons of pipes, cables, insulation and other equipment. The new ship will enter service in 2015.
