Carnival Australia Sets Sights on AIME

Carnival Australia has reported a great response to its debut at the region’s premier meetings event, AIME.

The meetings and incentives sector is an increasingly important target for Carnival Australia which showcased three of its cruise brands at AIME - P&O Cruises, Holland America Line and Seabourn.

The move follows the launch of the cruise company’s “Events at Sea” program early last year, to promote its ships to the meetings and incentives sector.

Carnival Australia Business Development Manager Rebecca Mutanen said visitors to AIME were impressed by the value and style of what cruising had to offer, including the state-of-the-art onboard facilities and experiential shore tours in each destination.

“People are looking for something different - an alternative for traditional meetings and incentive groups - and cruising offers a 'wow' factor. With three of our brands represented at AIME, we were able to offer something for everyone,” Ms Mutanen said.

“Exhibiting at AIME this year opened up opportunities for us not only to generate real sales leads but also to learn more about what buyers want from a corporate meeting or incentive, so we are definitely interested in returning next year.”

AIME was held in Melbourne in late February and attracted more than 700 suppliers and more than 3000 qualified visitors from around Australia, as well as more than 500 overseas buyers.
